The Self-build process does not have to be complicated, so how does it work?
The first stage is to find a lender who will provide funding whether by stage payments in arrears or in advance, both are available.

Funding is usually provided in four stages during the build process, some lenders will provide funding on the plot and others will not. Funding can be up to 95% lending at each stage, to include the purchase of the site as well as the build costs. For example a ite costing £150,000 and a build cost of £100,000 will only require an input of £12,500 in total from yourself. The build cost can also take account of your fees as well !

Once the funding has been agreed you are ready to find a suitable plot and builder. The builder will often provide an in house architect who will guide you through the options of design and planning.
